
Matthew Whipple is a registered patent attorney with over 28 years of experience in intellectual property law. His practice focusses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the United States and abroad. He also has experience in patent enforcement, litigation support and providing opinions on patentability, infringement and invalidity.
Matthew has represented clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. He has successfully prosecuted patent applications in a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor devices, semiconductor fabrication, thin films, 3D printing and other printing technologies, composites, ceramics, moulding and other materials related processes, chemical compounds and compositions, petroleum additives, cold storage and cooling systems, fracking and extraction systems and methods related to the petroleum industry, aircraft manufacturing and structures, wireless communications, optics, medical devices and cosmetics, among other technologies.
Prior to joining Mannava & Kang, P.C., Matthew was a patent attorney Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, and MH2 Technology Law Group, LLP. Before that he was a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office where he worked in the area of semiconductor fabrication.
Matthew has a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University. He graduated cum laude from George Mason University Law School.
