Dr. Esfandiar Behravesh has in-depth knowledge and expertise in biomedicine a result of his training in chemical engineering and biomedical engineering.  He is conversant with a wide array of technologies, ranging polymer chemistry, to biochemistry and material sciences.

Dr. Behravesh has experience working as a senior scientist in developing medical device products and as a research scientist at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where he developed high throughput in vitro tissue equivalent models for the long-term risk assessment of high-energy charged particle radiation on astronauts with nutritional supplements.

Dr. Behravesh is currently director of instructional laboratory at the Wallace H. Coulter Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, which is a joint program of Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University.  Dr. Behravesh recently developed an RFID-based real time tracking system that can evaluate and improve learning experience for students.

Dr. Behravesh has published numerious papers in professional journals, such as the Journal of Biomedical Matter Research, Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, and Biomacromolecules.
